Contributer Operations Associate


We are seeking an Operations Associate to join our Contributor Operations team in New York.  Since Visible Alpha’s commercial launch in February 2017, the company has been helping investment firms of all sizes and geographies discover ideas through its deep consensus platform and track and value research for MiFID II compliance. Job Description:

  • As an Operation Associate, you work closely with the sales team, sell-side contributors, and internal sell-side teams to ensure all buy-side client requests are attended to.
  • Coordinate with corporate access, equity trading, fixed-income and investment banking contacts to gain approvals and ensure all subscribers received appropriate levels of access, which is increasingly important with the role out of MiFID II regulations.
  • As a growing firm, we are constantly making improvements to our system and products.
  • Part of this role is to assist our product managers and engineers with product business requirements, testing new features, and providing support and analysis on the product rollout.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with contributors and partner firms and troubleshooting issues with entitlements.
  • As part of overseeing the sell-side contributors, you are also responsible to for ensuring that they are receiving appropriate consumption reports either via email or SFTP delivery across content sets.
  • Buy-side clients also request embargoes to be arranged as it relates to their consumption, as such should organize and implement the embargo period per client per broker in the relevant systems.
  • Additional responsibilities may include running entitlements reports, usage reports, and other ad-hoc reports for sell-side, buy-side, and internal team members.
  • Create new and update existing documentation around current processes and procedures to train our offshore colleagues.
  • Work closely with our internal API teams along with the sell-side contributors’ IT teams to coordinate successful contribution and client-approved access.

About you:

  • 1 year of internships based in the financial services industry
  • BA/BS degree in Finance or economics
  • Must have relevant experience in sell side/buy side Research Operations (1-4 years)
  • Must have relevant vendor management experience in content acquisition and relationship management (1-4 years)
  • Understanding and experience in equity and fixed income markets, sell-side / buy-side research workflows preferred
